3 dBi N-Male ALFA AOA-8696-3ACM Fiberglass Outdoor Antenna & Bracket Mount for USA/EU 868~960 MHz RAK, Bobcat, SenseCAP

ALFA AOA-8696-3ACM is outdoor fiberglass encased omni-directional 868~960 MHz antenna with 3 dBi gain, manufactured in Taiwan by ALFA Network. The product is TAA compliant, an important checkbox for government LoRa purchases. Also included is an outdoor bracket designed for mounting to a pole or PVC pipe. This antenna measures 23.6 inches and is compatible with all Helium Hotspot miners in this frequency band. 

This antenna is compatible with the RAK V2, Bobcat 300, Nebra Indoor, SenseCAP M1, Kerlink, Linxdot, SyncroB.it, Helium Hotspot, Kerlink, FreedomFi & LongAP, (915 MHz USA and Australia versions + Europe 868 MHz also) but requires an RP-SMA male to N-female coaxial cable to fit, and we carry compatible coaxial cables. This has the same gain as the Bobcat factory antenna and would be a better choice for RAK or Nebra owners.

We do recommend RokTape to seal all outdoor connection points.

Be cautious of gain inflation- some places arbitrarily inflate antenna gain numbers to appear better than competing products. Because gain cannot be easily measured by the end-users, we have seen similar antennas marketed as numbers like 18 dBi to 30 dBi that are not even 20 inches tall. Rokland has been making antennas for over 14 years for WiFi, 4G, and other applications. Our 915 MHz antennas are listed with actual specifications. You also do not want extremely high gain as your path will be very narrow and miss other hotspots.

I see similar-looking antennas online that say for 600 MHz to 2700 MHz, is a wider frequency spectrum better? 
Antennas with a focused spectrum will have better performance on that band segment vs antennas with a very wide spectrum. We would not recommend using antennas that are also WiFi 2.4 GHz compatible with your mining equipment. This antenna has a frequency range of just 868-960 MHz to give you improved performance.
